Domain Validated SSL Certificates (DV)
DV - Domain validation. When such a certificate is issued, only the domain name is verified. The certificate can be issued both for an individual and for a company. It is much cheaper and easier to buy an SSL certificate with domain verification than a certificate with organization verification. When ordering, pay special attention to the field "E-mail address for confirmation" in the certified domain: a letter with a link for confirmation will be sent to this mailbox.
If the mailbox does not exist, you will not be able to receive this letter and confirm ownership of the domain by clicking on the link from the letter. In this case, the certificate will not be issued and the money for it will not be refunded, since the certification center has already completed its part of the work.
As part of the fight against phishing, the certification center does not issue certificates for domains that contain words related to banking and finance or containing the names of well-known brands. If your domain contains such words, then you need to issue a certificate with domain and organization verification (DV + OV).
